Hi! I’m Dan, and I’m a financial coach. I help busy professionals, single parents, and frustrated Millennials like you understand the basics of managing your everyday money. A lot of you have come to me for advice on a range of issues:
- Are you sick and tired of worrying about money?
- Are you embarrassed to ask for help?
- Are you making good money but don’t know where it’s going?
- Do you want to save more money but don’t know how?
- Is it hard for you to say, NO!, to friends and family?
- Do you want to manage your money without turning into a penny-pinching miser?
You aren’t looking for riches and wealth; you simply want to stop worrying so much about money and enjoy life.
How I Can Help
There are a couple of keys to success when it comes to handling money. I can teach you how to create a plan to manage your money. You will sleep a lot better when you know there’s a plan. It might take some time, but at least you know what to do when you wake up tomorrow.
I can help you get out of debt faster. When you get out of debt years ahead of time, you save thousands of dollars! And all that money you save goes towards your other goals like retirement, a house, a new car, or a vacation.
I also teach you how to track where your money is going. This knowledge helps you figure out what you can do differently to reach your goals.
I’m not here to tell you to sell the car, stop eating out, or end all the fun in your life. However, you are an adult, and in order to say, “Yes!” to your goals, you have to say, “No!” to something else.
It’s your choice, and I’ll help you make it. I also hate dealing with receipts. I try out all the latest apps that deal with money. I love technology, and I will teach you how to use it to make your life better.
Why I Became a Financial Coach
After I finished college and got married, I felt a little lost when it came to money.
I had an engineering degree, an MBA, and I had started a career as a financial adviser. I knew a lot of advanced concepts about money, but there seemed to be this giant gap of knowledge between balancing my checkbook and investing for retirement. I must have missed something!
Like you, I started a journey to find answers. I found some good ones, but they never felt complete. I craved the whole picture, and it was frustrating that I couldn’t find it.
So I created it. It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot better than anything out there.
Why is it better? The other books and programs that exist today are either based on Bible verses or feel haphazard. You get lost in all the random advice, and it feels like learning addition by memorizing every combination of every number, ever.
Instead, my system is based on the latest research in financial strategy, positive psychology, and behavioral economics.
Best of all? I don’t teach you a series of steps or give a hundred random pieces of advice. I teach you the whole game! (For you physics fans, I have created what I believe to be the M-theory of personal finance.)
- How do I choose between saving for retirement or a car?
- Which should I do first, give to charity or build an emergency fund?
- Why is getting rid of debt such a big deal?
- How might consolidating my loans help me?
